Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and NCC are launching training for students pursuing the Bachelor of Construction Management Degree to speed up the introduction of BIM at sites.
A BIM managed site project – the RKM11T project – is part of the ModelNova work package of the RYM/PRE program. About thirty students will test various use cases related to work site management and planning with a building information model.
NCC will make available to the students the plans of a commercial building project about to begin. BIM-based tools will be made use of in site planning under guidance of the NCC Virtual Design & Construction Team. The purpose is to use BIM to create feasible site schedules, cost estimates, fall protection plans, plans for precast panel installation, site management resource plans, moisture control plans, and regional plans, etc.
Instructors of the course that ends in December are lecturer Erno Olkkonen and senior lecturer Päivi Jäväjä.
